A young girl named Alyssa grew up in Hicksville NY and dreamed of being a history teacher. She then got an opportunity to work in a bakery baking and decorating and realized how much of a passion she truly had for baking. She had a new dream, that dream was to open a cupcake shop. In December of 2012, A Pound & A Half:Cookies and Cupcakes INC. was born! Chef Alyssa is the owner/baker and holds two food safety certifications. She is a hard dedicated worker with nothing but treating each and every customer as if they were family. Everything made is made with love and appreciation.
